Thanks to everyone for all their lovely quotes. Here are some of my favourites so far:
Mistress Shell wrote:The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.
SPOCK, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
Love this one, and that scene chokes me up every time.
Golden Ecco wrote:Capt. Jean Luc Picard, The Next Generation, season 1 episode 13 wrote:
Shut up, Wesley.

*chuckles*
Sett wrote:I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We’ve made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again! The line must be drawn here! This far and no further! And I will make them pay for what they’ve done! Picard - First Contact
Buckle wrote:.......The Edge!!!!
Bono - U2 Live at Red Rocks
Love this Concert!
Mistress Shell wrote:When I have a terrible need of - shall I say the word - religion. Then I go out and paint the stars.
Vincent Van Gogh
Poor Vincent :\'-(
della the blackbird wrote:Gaston Bachelard wrote:
A word is a bud attempting to become a twig. How can one not dream while writing? It is the pen which dreams. The blank page gives the right to dream.
 Love this one!
Sexual Chocolate wrote:This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

-William Shakespear
I'm quite partial to a bit of the bard.
Dr.D wrote:There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes
Tom Baker , The fourth Doctor Who
Dr.D wrote:How we deal with death is at least as important as how we deal with life

James Kirk , Star Trek II : the Wrath of Khan
Loving the Doctor Who ones Dr.D, especially the Tom Baker one.

Here is a good Who quote:
Hello, Stonehenge! Who takes the Pandorica takes the Universe! But, bad news everyone, 'cause guess who! Ha! Except, you lot, you're all whizzing about, it's really very distracting. Could you all just stay still a minute because I am talking! Now, the question for the hour is, "Who's got the Pandorica?" Answer: I do. Next question: "Who's coming to take it from me?" Come on, look at me! No plan, no backup, no weapons worth a damn, oh, and something else: I don't have anything to lose! So, if you're sitting up there in your silly little space ships with all your silly little guns, and you've got any plans on taking the Pandorica tonight, just remember who's standing in your way! Remember every black day I ever stopped you, and then, and then, do the smart thing! ........ Let somebody else try first.

Anyway back to the edging *giggles*

EDIT: 50 Edges so far.

Heh. Carnivals. We can do carnivals:
You don't have to run away to join the circus. The circus is right here, and it's swallowed you whole.

Lucus: then you will be the last thing i ever see
Wenesday:That is so HOT!
the Addams family musical "Crazier then you"

seems like a good quote

This isn't Star Trek, but it might interest you anyway, and you probably won't have to do an edge for it:
BJ Sagarin, et al. wrote:In conclusion, the present studies sought to examine the physiological and psychological effects of consensual sadomasochistic activity. Although the physiological reactions of bottoms and tops tended to differ, the psychological reactions converged, with bottoms and tops reporting increases in relationship closeness after their scenes. These results, combined with the displays of caring and affection observed in scenes, offer support for the modern view of SM as an expression of human sexuality that, when performed consensually, has the potential to increase the intimacy between participants. (emphasis added)
BJ Sagarin, et al., "Hormonal Changes and Couple Bonding in Consensual Sadomasochistic Activity", Arch Sex Behav (2009) 38:186-200. Epub 2008 Jun 19. PMID:18563549

The full text is probably behind a paywall. PM me if it blocks you & you want the pdf.

So the next time somebody says our sexual orientation is perverted, well... now you can shoot back. (It won't actually do any good, but shooting back does feel better.)
