Second time that I've been online today and chat has decided that apparently that an eternity is good for me. >.<

The chat server is very flaky at the moment - I'm planning to move it to a different provider, but we have bigger problems now.

Any luck with the new chat server Seraph? The place is starting to get terrible lag again, makes the place pretty much unusable.

I'm going to move it right now. May take up to 24 hours to complete as there is a DNS change involved. During that time the chat may be down for some people or for everyone.

After the move if there is still lag, I guess we'll know that it wasn't a server issue.

But let's hope this will fix the lag for good.

Server move is complete. It may take some time for your Internet provider to figure out the chat server's new address. Most people should be able to access the chat again within 3 hours, in extreme cases it can take up to 24 hours, but that should be the exception.

Bad news, no one I have spoken to seems to be able to post photos in chat.

Chat appears to have died again.

My 3 cents?

1. Logs need to be transfer to the new DNS.
2. Issues with pictures.
3. Issues with video.

Other than that chat seems to work okay so far from what I can tell no lag yet.

Anyone reading this: If you can't access the chat, please just wait for your DNS to update. (Should be under three hours again.)

I'm going to leave video chat disabled for a time so I can get a before/after once we re-enable it. I'm interested to see whether the lag re-appears once we enable video chat again.

In the meantime, can you guys give me a sense - how often was video chat used?

Can only speak for myself here, but I rarely used video in chat, used it a couple of times here and there, but personally I would prefer a reliable non laggy chat without video to lag happy video chat. If that makes sense.

Poor teacup can only come on cam in the chat though, so she may have a different view.

When I was a lot more active cams were used rarely. At most I have seen roughly 5 cams up with no lag so......

Anyways glad to hear the issues are fixable and hoping for a lag free chat again.
