Shows you how to disable the Geo-tagging feature on your phone, because when you take a picture and upload it, you are sharing information that you may not want to be, including your exact location.

Be careful my darlings!

There has been that potential for years
Police can trace your location (and Goverment too)
But I suspect your talking about hackers figuring out your location from Pics
Which isn't to hard with a photo of the statue of liberty
but with so many photoes of so mnay places if you photo your back yard
I wouldn't be suprised if there is a way to figure out location.

The site was down when I check, but I know what your're talking about
thanks for the warning.

That is why the perp is encouraged to turn the phone on

I think what Alison ment is that every photo you take with your phone or some cameras with gps capability also store your exact location.

This information is stored in the photo itself with lots of other info. Like with which settings the photo was taken and when it was made.

You can remove this info with simple tools if you google "exif remove". A way that always works is converting the photo to bmp and back to jpg. Best thing is to just disable geo-tagging if you dont make any use of it.

Also this isn't "hacking" but a feature so you can map these pictures to google maps or something similar. That way you always know where you took that picture. Very useful on vacations.

On my Android phone it was disabled by default - does this mean that some phones have it switched on by default??
