Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
Hello Milovanians!
Today I bring you review of the new stereostim box from Estim Hero, I dare say the most powerful stereostim box out there.
First the disclaimer: I have received this box as a beta tester, for free (only paid for shipping). But that did not came with any strings, they did not ask to even see what I will post here and I am doing an honest review.
Also, this is not final version of the box, but I will try to update this post with any information about eventual differences to this version when I become aware of them.
Package
It came in a discrete white box, with attached shipping documentation (which was also in electronic form so DHL did all the customs procedures expressly, even before it arrived to EU). The box was of appropriate size and there was not too much "filler" material (and they did use perforated paper filler, which is I believe the most ecological).
Contents
The contents are as described on the shop page: Impression / build quality
The box is light and it looks very nice. I have 3d printer for many years and this (3d printed) case looks better than I expected. The colored sockets and matching cables are very nice detail. Cables themselves are high quality, and they come with matching 4mm to 2mm banana adatpers, which is very cool. The volume knobs are also metal and feel very nice. The screws used are nice looking. The threads are made in the plastic directly (there are no threaded inserts).
The internals are clean and smelling like expensive products (laptops, apple devices), none of that smell that comes out of cheap devices. Overall impression is that this is a premium product.
Operation
The box does not have any stickers/embossed symbols etc so you have to refer to the manual until you get used to it. I'll ask if they might add some stickers for switches on the final version, it would be nice touch but it is only needed until you used the box 2-3 times, after that you can use it blindly. I also hope they add rubbery feet so that it doesn't slide on the table easily if you pull on the cables.
On the back side there is 3.5mm audio input (for connecting which there is accessory cable in the box), a miniature power switch, and power socket to connect power supply.
On the front side, left are the outputs top are L+ and R+, bottom are L- and R-. Then follows the Dual/Triphase switch (top/amber led is dual where both channels are independent, bottom/blue led is triphase in which L- anr R- are combined). Then on the right half are volume knobs, there are smaller knobs for left and right channel, and between them in the middle is a large master volume knob that controls both. (Beta version of box has bug that causes this knob to work opposite, so turning it counter-clockwise is increasing volume, but this is fixed for final version that is up for preorders).
The leds showing current output for each channel are very responsive and are very nice touch to provide visual indication of the signal outputted. Test run
I used my standard electrodes, aneros tempo, stainless steel cock ring, and I tested it with both a custom-made glans electrode I 3d printed for 2 loops of conductive rubber, and 2 miniature round sticky-pads (I like this version as it allows me to enjoy stim without having an erection). I tried several different files, most notable being Mistress and Control Box, V91's Sync Hero 1 and 2, and several different restim scripts. I enjoyed all of them, none were spiky or with any unexpected sensations, overall very pleasant, buzzy feeling that I ascribe to great amplifier and a choice of really amazing transformers which are better than anything I have seen so far in this niche.
The only objection I have is that the box is really powerful. You should set your left and right volume knobs to around 1/3 (make adjustments around it to balance for optimal ratio with your electrodes), so that you can use about half of the master knob volume, and you get a bit "finer" adjustments at it. If you put L and R to the max, then it becomes very hard to make meaningful adjustments with master knob, the minimal touch is enough to go from too strong to too weak (and vice versa).
Still, nothing major here, with the advice above, it is perfectly fine to give you amazing orgasms.
Nerd stuff
For those of you who like their junk to be stimulated with same signal that their oscilloscope is stimulated with, I tested the box limits with 4W resistors, using 1kHz sinusoidal signal. I was amazed to see that there is no saturation in the transformers all the way to maximum output where the box's protection mehanism kicks in.
For 500 Ohm load that is around 95 volts! Since I haven't seen any distortion at 500 Ohms, I decided to try with 150 Ohms, which is more load than even on the largest internal electrodes, and the box reached 35 Volts before triggering protection. Based on this I think the box is a bit too strong, since my calculation (if correct) says that this is around 160mA RMS current, I think 3-5x more than anyone will need. I think they can very easily reduce output or adapt the protection to kick in earlier, but there might also be space here to cut some costs, this output is really too perfect at these high powers. This box easily takes the title of most powerful stereostim box (it seems the transformers are so amazing that they could provide even more power if not limited by protection), but it almost sounds like driving a Lamborghini through the city streets :)
I'll try to keep list of edits here for transparency.
EDIT: the last resistor was not 120 but 150 Ohms so also max RMS current is a bit less (160 instead of 200)
EDIT: I see people commenting on the price, of course this is always a concern, and everyone will evaluate value for themselves. I do hope they can get economies of scale up to reduce the price, but for anyone interested more in that aspect, check their blog here https://estimhero.com/blogs/view/44/est ... pdate-no-9

Re: Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
Thanks all the time to do such a comprehensive, well-presented review. If I did not have my own built setup, I would likely buy this one.
Re: Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
Thanks for the review! I'm perfectly happy with my DIY box, which I just realized has served me well for 10+ years by now, but it's great to know that a good quality alternative exists and I'm glad they did a good job.

At $650USD you can buy the Stimkits, ready assembled for way less. doesn't have the fancy led's but its 1/4 of the price and also very powerful. There are options out there which are good.

How can it be.
I look at the post without logging in and take a look on the site .
Now i get commercials in my email about this box.
How did they track my email.

Re: Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
The Stimkit Tingler stereo stim box is only $169. It is solid and has more power than I could ever use. There are no fancy lights but it has a triphase switch and a switch to swap the left and right channels. Everything I want in a stereo stim box. I have nothing against the Estim Hero box, but I don't see how it could be worth the huge price difference.

Re: Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
oof, the price really ran away.. Initial announcement said something like the price would be similar to building it yourself.. then the preliminary price was around €200 iirc in a subsequence blog post. Way out of my range though.thebears73 wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 11:15 pm At $650USD you can buy the Stimkits, ready assembled for way less. doesn't have the fancy led's but its 1/4 of the price and also very powerful. They spent a lot of thought on safety, which is great, but it seems a bit counter-productive that if it can deliver such strong currents within its normal operating parameters.

the base package is 445$ right now, Including shipping
so it is ~ 365$ for the Power box + Power supply

I explain more what goes into the price on my Blog Post, I wish we could have done it much more cheaper, but between cost of components, manufacturing and different customs, taxes, tariffs and fees and the fact that this is a quite niche market that is the best we could do right now.
One last note (with a bit of marketing

Re: Review of Estim Hero - Stereo power box
Yea, I fully understand, lots of work goes into a product like this and not a massive market. You get a lot of fun out of an estim box, and I think it's a worthy investment especially for those who don't trust their own electronics skills. I think estim safety is often not taken seriously enough, and I think it's good that you've made it a priority.EstimHero wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 6:13 am I explain more what goes into the price on my Blog Post, I wish we could have done it much more cheaper, but between cost of components, manufacturing and different customs, taxes, tariffs and fees and the fact that this is a quite niche market that is the best we could do right now.
