Views? How are they counted?

Im curious about how “views” are counted. Is this a count of page views or individual views of, say, page one?

In other words if someone only looks at page one obviously that’s probably one view. But if someone gets to page 100 does that still count as one view? Or is that 100 views?

I have no agenda behind this. I’m just wondering.

I had the understanding that it was how many times a certain tease was opened in a browser. I think refreshing it would add to the view count but I am only assuming all of this.
