Opinion: Image Choice is More Important than Writing

You brought up an interesting point. I will agree with you that this fusion you talk about is the thing that really elevates the quality of a tease when it works. But I cannot really agree with the initial point that image choice is more important than writing. I would say they are of equal importance in my opinion. I've seen teases with great images that just say basic instructions like stroke that many times, which don't feel very alive to me. Of course this is a personal thing, someone might not even care about the writing that much, in the same way that someone may not find a specific picture sexy enough. But there are also other sites that can give you high quality images, so without the proper writing behind them, a tease stills seems to lack something. All in all, I would say the best thing to do for a great tease would be, either begin with a set of images you love and try to fit a story or start with a story idea and try to find the best images that suit it. In my only tease so far I did the second mainly, but there were also images that gave me ideas of new story elements in the same tease. Too bad you don't like hentai to check it

I agree with Sear_inix.
Both pictures and writing stimulate our imagination. Both are important. Personally, I prefer stories.
On literotica there are stories that can turn me on even when they are without pictures.
Therefore, communication and play with the reader's expectations is important.
There is also audio porn which is more interesting because the voice communicates directly with its own.

Interesting topic... but I would say that the writing part is in the first place more important.

Of course the first and important thing is that the tease idea/story fits my/your interests.
It can have the most beautiful pictures, when the story is based on some idea I don't like it's useless for me.
For example if you are not into CBT the tease with that model you like is not relevant for you if it's based on that idea.

But even when the idea fits your interest it has to be good written to keep me interesting.
When I see some flash/eos teases for example that have very long timers on the first 3 pages I immediately loosing interest.
On story based teases of course the story have to be good but on the other more game based teases the writing of the idea have to be good and is very important to me.
Just adding pages in a row that say, stroke x amount slow, stroke x amount a bit faster, edge.... are very boring.

The pictures on the other hand have to be more good fitting to the scenario.
For example I don't like teases that showing nudes on the first pages, like your both example.
For me they have both a very bad pictures selection.

Further that it's not important if the model is super hot or just hot.
I would always prefer a good written game with average pictures instead of a tease with perfect pictures and a very bad writing/game idea.

Of course at the end it has to be both in a good way to make a good tease, but I would not agree that having good pictures is more important than the tease behind it.

Personnally, I totally prefer good writing (and then instructions) over pictures. When doing a tease it's not unusual for me to open a window with pictures I prefer than those displayed by default. If my main interest in the teases was the pictures, I'd simply look at porn pictures
Just to emphasize the fact that I'm not a literature maniac about teases I also would like to add that I don't like "story driven teases". When I want a long story type, well...I read porn stories ^^.
I like a bit of context, good instructions and if they are well writen it's a good thing

EDIT : I must add that my opinion is maybe not the most common because the little importance the pictures have for me is certainly related to the T&D fantasies I have : some kind of roleplay, clothed women and "normal matures" not porn stars ; not the most common pictures type in teases. I may be used to it.

But given the choice to play a well-written tease with random pictures of the same model, or attractive pictures with poor writing, the former seems more appealing if I'm wanting to do a tease. If you just want attractive pictures may as well see a gallery - poor writing can make them worse.

I agree that fitting pictures that meld with the context is important, and matching sets is a must for me at least. But if the writing was excellent I'd be happy to just crop my screen to add a different model and see the text.

In my opinion it's a bit of a mixed bag between the two, there's various good points for both, but there's also various detrimental points to them as well, but it highly depends on the type of tease. Certain teases image choice or image variety will make or break them, and certain others writing will be much more important than image choice.

Example, any type of tease that revolves too much around a narrative will obviously suffer more from poor writing than poor image choice. Hard to make a cuckold tease, or even a worship one without proper writing, despite an over abundance of images that can work to enhance the tease itself, so the quality or even variety of images will make it better or worse, but quality of writing will make or break the tease. Image choice might be the difference between rating it as a 4 or a 5, but writing is the difference between a 2 and a 5 in those cases.

But on the other hand, there's game-type teases where writing can be scarce, or even include typos in some cases (Obviously not all over the place.) and be fine, but image choice, quality and variety will absolutely make or break it. Maze teases, Lotteries can be amazing or terrible based off of image choice, but only slightly better or worse due to writing.

And then of course, depending on if it's a hentai or real pic tease, image variety and image quality will matter more or less, writing is pretty universal on both.

So image choice is more important on visual experiences, and writing is more important on narrative ones.

I think it's important for pictures to fit the narrative. If the pictures are just random crap... in most cases that means it's not going to be a good tease, no matter how good the text is. If the author wants us to use our own material, then he/she should incorporate that into the tease and not just give crap/mediocre pictures.

If some author doesn't want to add many pictures, he can make a tease that uses outside material (videos and pictures) and make it mostly a text tease, by choosing just a few good pictures.... an example of a good tease like that, is this one:
