Indeed, if you still have Flash enabled on your machine, you seriously should turn it off for security reasons.
Therefore, Flash teases no longer work both on some platforms and on computers where the owner is using a higher level of security, and will be officially unsupported on all platforms quite soon. Milovana is one of the few hold-outs in the Flash world.
The good news is that kerkersklave (thank you!) has created a HTML5 Viewer for all of the Flash teases! I personally feel that this should become the new default to replace Flash on Milovana, as it satisfies the new security regime.
The one problem with the HTML5 Viewer is that if a Flash tease has syntactic bugs, it won't work on it. The dev kerkersklave tries to be forgiving of errors, but there are some bugs that he simply cannot work around. This affects quite a number of Flash teases, mainly the older ones, but also some of the newer ones (such as the recent Where is my wife? — you can see its error message on the HTML5 Viewer).
Might I ask all Flash authors to please check your teases against the HTML5 Viewer?
This is a good thing to do anyway, as it will point out problems in your syntax.
To check your tease:
- Go to the HTML5 Viewer
- Replace 664 with your tease number in the ID area
- Check the box "check tease for issues"
- Press Start. If there is a bug, it will be shown after a few seconds. (If you don't check the box "check tease for issues", the HTML5 Viewer will attempt to work around bugs. Errors will be shown only if it can't work around them.)
