For this (and any other!) RPG release, is there a way to observe / look at / "play through" the videos without also playing the role-playing game itself?
Yes, there is. All videos are .webm stored in a directory in the /www directory where you've extracted the game. (it was named with a clear name like 'vids' or 'materials', I've deleted the game myself
)
VLC should be able to handle any webm.
As for the game itself, I'll be that guy who tries and be constructive:
- Spoiler: show
- - X content lacks variety [only hardcore... even some of my favorite rounds from old CHs have their worst part featured IMO] There's a definite need to implement teases, buildups, etc. like a proper CH video does. Perhaps add a stat/counter to alter the seed the videos are chosen by.
- Skipper is not implemented the right way: you should be able to skip only vids you don't like the theme of - they just waste your time and disrupt the rythm. That said, there's basically only one theme here, vaginal penetration... (yes I exaggerate, just to point out the issue here)
- Random encounters (by # of steps) is a big no-no in RPGM game since 10+ years ago... Especially in this genre. Implementing RoR (run or rape) and/or stealth mechanics would be a big plus. As content is limited by the overall size, managing that content properly is a must.
For the positive: in the 30 mn or so I've tried this, RPGMV had almost no lag (congrats!).
Battles are quite easy when you know what you're doing, but they kind of ruin the CH rythm, all the more with the skipper thing.
- The videos in the starting area are mostly softcore fingering, the second area contains oral, the third contains vaginal penetration, the fourth constrains anal and then as you progress, the videos get more and more hardcore. The map is made out of islands, each containing it's own genre.
- The skipper is implemented exactly how someone asked for it, i didn't want to include it, but hey, people want it
- This is a random encounter game, I made it this way, making the same game without random encounters will defeat the purpose of what i'm creating. As I said with every release, I make this games for me in my spare time. I love playing them and I share them here because i've seen the guy that asks for money for this type of game. When you ask for something, I might implement it in the next installment only if I consider that it fits in the general direction I'm planning the game.
- The last game had something that worked as stealth, but people didn't care about it, so I removed it. It was something that you activate and removed random encounters for x steps.
What you want is mostly found in Decadence Island from watch it dry, maybe that game will suit you better
