grabbing it now.... I am intrigued to see your first production and also look forward to the constructive feedback I am sure will come forward to help you improve on your technique :-)

I am hoping it will be available as a torrent some time soon since Mega has limitations for those of us using browsers to download large files.

Meanwhile, thank you for the new vid.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into taking the leap and making a CH. The first time is the most difficult. Also I'm a huge fan of "new retrowave, synthwave, outrun" music so I was very excited to play this! However, after just having played it, I have a few critiques:
  • the beat meter was very hard to follow, because it has no background to make the beats stand out from the varied background colors of the video. Also the bubbles were too small to see most of the time. I didn't know when a change was coming up.
  • The beat meter inserted beats didn't match with the music (most of the time). In other words they were audible out of place.
  • The music! You really gotta diversify your portfolio of synthwave. Kavinsky, Perturbator and Carpenter brut are great sounds, but they're all so dark and angry, which doesn't fit at all with images of happy girls getting fucked out in the sunlight. Try some FM-84, The Midnight, or anything from the "new retrowave" channel on youtube. Check out their "best of the month" playlists
  • The video transitions didn't match with a change in the music, overall the video and music seemed like separate entities.

Hopefully the Mega download works out for you, I might be able to set up a torrent, should I try Google Drive or something too? Either way, I hope you can check it out.

It certainly was very difficult, I very much underestimated just how difficult it truly is. Learning to use Premiere a little bit, learning how to make beats, just so much painstaking work. It was for sure a fun experience and it would only get better from here, I hope...

Yeah, I should've known it would be hard to see, it seemed okay when it was fullscreen 1080p from close-up, didn't really think about possibly different setups and viewing experiences, easy fix for the future at least!

I think I tried to be too clever with some manually inserted beats to match the song perfectly on a couple rounds. Definitelyyy not the right call for my first time trying. Should've just stuck to the basics, but that didn't seem right either with the way the beats in the song itself were. Can do better next time for sure!

Agree with you here, I totally tunneled very on hard on wanting to use specific songs and artists, just because they are my absolute favorites and didn't think what would be best for the video itself. Was just so excited to finally use Carpenter Brut and Perturbator as they are typically not used in CH's (I now know why lmao). Would expand next time!

Yep, I for sure see what you mean, I think this was just another case of me underestimating how much work actually goes into a CH. More attention to detail is certainly a big one, can do better!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, it helped a ton. I feel like I should start over on a new one at some point, expand my music choices, make a fancy beatmeter, try not to be so "unique" on my beats and just stick to what already works and works great. I think I will stick with the synthwave genre as it's very underrepresented in CH's and will improve in the future!

I am happy to see that a new author is us using my software to make beatmeters. I immediately had to test this video. ;-)

I liked the pace of it a lot. But it's true, the beats are off in many places.
What I've noticed is, that you often manage to match the base beat very, but as soon as you do more complex beats they are mostly off.
That makes me wonder: did you use the snapping feature? Complex beat patterns can be easily achieved like this: make a base-track with the base beat and make sure it matches perfectly. (Use the auto-detection feature if it gives good result on your music). Once you are really satisfied with this mark it as snap-track.
Then use the snap-feature to create patterns. You can press the number keys to get extra snap-positions. Use powers of two of the base beat for your extra beats, e.g. if you want to have a 123 beat press 3 for 3 extra snap positions, snap the first beat to the base beat and 2 and 3 to the following positions, so the 4th position remains without a beat.
You can also select one of the predefined patterns and scale it to fit your base beat. The scalling uses snapping as well.

Trying to fit patterns manually to a beat is much more difficult.

The visibility of the beatmeter seemed fine to me. I like it this way as it does not cover the video more than necessary. You could add some notification messages before the beat change if you want to make it easier. But personally I don't care.
I think if the beats really match the music it is easy enough to pick up. Being slightly of adds a lot of confusion so it feals harder to recognise the patterns as it probably is.

I wouldn't call that a beat meter. It was just dots moving on the screen. You should have put in a point where the beat hits. Your beat meter should also kind of match the theme of your video.

Visuals are looking amazing

Too bad the beats are missing too much on other than simple 1-2-3-4's, it looks really good so I think I'm keeping it anyway! xD

Thanks for making the software, probably wouldn't have even attempted to make a CH without it. But yeah, you're pretty spot on. I did use the snapping feature and it worked great with the simple beats, but I did not use the keys to get the extra snap positions, extremely noticeable as you saw, now I know what I should do when making beats in the future. Thanks for the tips!

Ayy, I'm glad the visuals are good, it is a shame I screwed up the beats so much, but at least you enjoyed it to an extent!

Great. Let me know if you encounter any problems. Also, if you need a beatmeter-style that is not achievable I might be able to change some things or add some features.

It's marvellous that new people are making CH's, it certainly must be a lot of work!

Please don't give up, maybe even try doing another version of this with improved beats if you feel you're getting a better hang of it! I believe in you!

Just gave it a try. I like your adherence to a particular theme, though I feel this was a missed opportunity to use a lot of iconic 80's-themed porn (especially the retro spandex leotards that go high above the waist). The intro set the mood very well and the transitions were nice (albeit a bit repetitive).

Yeah, people talked your ear off about the beat already, so I'm not going to spend a lot of time talking about that. There was a considerable BPM difference at several points between the music and the beat. Be mindful of that. There's nothing wrong with taking some time to rework the beats and re-release this.

The porn variety could be improved, but for a first-time project, this shows a lot of promise. I really enjoyed the way you decided to end it. As I mentioned before, I think you could've taken the 80's theme and gone absolutely nuts with it. If you do decide to do a re-release with the beats fixed up, I think this will be on a lot of peoples' playlists.

Thank you for the kind words, I think I will try improving on this and releasing a better version.

Man I totally agree, I love that style and think it would be awesome, I do worry about the amount of source material, but I'm sure I could find it or at least do a round in a future video!

So, I think I will try to release a better version with fixed beats and improvements. Thanks to everyone for the comments. I hope to release a much improved version!

I really liked this. The content, music, and design were all really enjoyable. The beats didn't seem to match the tempo of the music in some parts, but I think that's partially due to the music selection. At some points it seemed like you were trying to insert rhythms that weren't present in the music. Most of the music doesn't have a fast-paced drum beat - perhaps that's why it didn't seem to mesh well with the beats on the beatmeter. Other people have already mentioned their critiques related to the beatmeter and video transitions.

This is really good for a first effort though. I hope we'll see some more content from you in the future whether it's outrun or something else.

I must say, I enjoyed the music, the women were amazing, video quality was good and I feel the video editing was done well for a first attempt. I would agree that the beat meter could be larger. Otherwise I know I couldn't have done that well if I tried to make that video.
