What does everyone consider a Stroke?

Re: What does everyone consider a Stroke?
i would not have imagined so many people would think up-and-down as a stroke would be too fast for the vast majority of cock heroes

For me it depends: Lube or no lube. With lube I'm pretty much forced to turn each beat in to an "up" or "down" only. Without lube I can turn them in to "up and down" movements. Lately I've been experimenting with videos being unlubed at the start, and then lubed to finish.

Re: What does everyone consider a Stroke?
I concur with 100% of this. A down-beat is downwards; a beat-meter's beat is an indication of a down-beat; therefore one beat on a beat-meter is one downwards motion. So, if you want to do another downwards motion any time soon, you'd better get ready for it! In order to prepare, you can either (a) stroke UPwards with your Fleshlight or similar toy, in order to have it poised for the subsequent down-beat, or (b) do the same with your hand(s), and note that thereby (with (a) OR with (b)) you will be "stroking" your penis upwards in the process, or (c) open your hand out and move it up to near the top of your penis, thereby NOT stroking during the upward motion. Choices (a) and (b) pretty much double the stimulation of choice (c). Choice (a) is mandatory if you are using a Fleshlight or similar toy; therefore you must NOT be using one, and must instead be using hand(s), to choose either of (b) or (c) (and, this necessary correlation between toy and choice (a) led to my previous comment, which I didn't really explain very well back there, about it depending on whether or not you were using a toy).zoltan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2017 12:33 am A simpler way to think about this is that each "stroke" is a downstroke. Coming back up is just a resetting motion that happens between beats. In this way your hand is behaving like a drummer's - down on the beat, up to reset.
Some CH videos with absurdly fast beats are more fun the "wrong" way though, since it effectively cuts the stroke rate in half.
In other words, I think that any ambiguous beat-meter indicates generally a DOWN-stroke or adequate replacement stroke; therefore, if there IS an up-stroke, then any up-stroke would have to happen in the interim, perhaps neatly paired immediately before or after the down-stroke, or perhaps evenly spaced halfway to the next down-stroke, or perhaps the up-stroke doesn't happen at all because you take your hand off your dick for it.
Get it? My theory only. Any cock-hero creator who chooses otherwise (or chooses thiswise, too!) is of course free to indicate his preference, or even to hope we viewers guess his intended preference without his indicating it.
The most major problem with this theory is, for the few times when the required stroking gets TOO FAST to be performed as a complete up-and-down. In those outlier situations, I think various interpretations might be possible: (i) change your interpretation from up-and-down to one-way-only for part of the individual video (a weird choice, but possible) (ii) go back and recalibrate the entire previous portion of the video (solely in your mind, or re-view and re-perform it as well) such that all beats get changed from the up-and-down interpretation to the one-way-only interpretation (cumbersome, but logical) (iii) consider the too-fast beats to indicate NOT specific distinct up-and-down or one-way-only beats but instead "go as fuckin' fast as you can!" beats (probably what most of us do anyway, but mildly irrational).
And, to the fellow who said he was sorry for sounding annoyed, (1) you don't really sound annoyed and (2) that's cool, you're allowed to have a pet-peeve about your preferred stimulation, since stimulation preferences are almost entirely subject to individual tastes, of which we all probably should be rather tolerant (especially at a porn-based web-board), right?
Personally (as a comparable example) I am often HUGELY peeved when an otherwise excellent point-of-view blowjob or handjob scene (think, f.e., of the Manojob series) gets down to the end and the guy takes the dick in his hands to cause the finish. WHAT?? When I'm watching a "she does this to me (a.k.a. him)" type scene, the LAST fuckin' thing I want to see is SOME DUDE MASTURBATING damn it all to hell! Not a "reasonable" peeve, to many people, who probably like seeing the facial-cumshot whether or not it's of the female-finishes or of the self-finisher variety; nevertheless, nearly a REQUIREMENT for my personal viewing pleasure; consequently, a peeve. A peeve I intend to cultivate and honor!

Re: What does everyone consider a Stroke?
This is the perfect example why the one-way alternative is not the right way. A 'half' stroke is just a cheat to make it through a very hard CH production, and it's ok too.
I like how zoltan first expressed it, and how book_guy summed it all up, and I totally agree. Another alternative for the down stroke on beat is the possibility to constantly switch hands on each beats. Good on the slower beats, but not doable on those crazy fasts beats (which also means to me to go as fast as you can, and if it goes even faster, try harder).

Re: What does everyone consider a Stroke?
I always thought it was quite clear that a "stroke" was down and then up again.
That said, personally I play most videos the "wrong" way, since often very high-speed strokes will have the opposite of the intended effect on me and I might get turned off more than on. I don't really care whether I play the way it was intended or not, I'm just there to have a good time.

Stroke it.
STROKE IT. It is not difficult. If she says stroke it once, do you just go one direction, or both? You do both, because she'd laugh her sexy ass off otherwise. Stroke it, use more lube if you break your wrist, and sometimes you just can't match the meter. Get over it Stroker.

Re: What does everyone consider a Stroke?
I have always thought and heard of it being a full up and down movement for a stroke, or like Zotan said,
Also like "bhlombardy" said we need an "automatic masturbator" device for playing Cock Hero. One that you plug into your USB port and can detect when you cum. So no one can cheat.
But I always thought it was the other way around with your hand at the base and you stroke up on the beat and then drop back down to reset for the next beat."A simpler way to think about this is that each "stroke" is a downstroke. Coming back up is just a resetting motion that happens between beats. In this way your hand is behaving like a drummer's - down on the beat, up to reset."

Or the less expensive version, a friend/SO/whatever. Lots of FUN that way!Rule63MePlease wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2017 3:50 am I have always thought and heard of it being a full up and down movement for a stroke, or like Zotan said,But I always thought it was the other way around with your hand at the base and you stroke up on the beat and then drop back down to reset for the next beat."A simpler way to think about this is that each "stroke" is a downstroke.
