From the windows version it looks like you are using windows 8 or 8.1?

I have not tested it because I HATE windows 8 with a passion. I started in IT just as the IBM PC was first sold, windows 8 is the only OS where I felt like throwing the laptop through the window the UI was so frustrating.
Hopefully windows 10 will be better, but I have no intention of installing 8.

The version of VB I used for the editor is getting old so the install may not work on windows 8, it would be good to know if anyone has it working on 8.

My guess it is something else Microsoft "broke" in windows 8 to force people to buy newer versions of their software rather than any deficiency on your part.

Try creating a directory and unpacking this zip file there.
Double click on MWTEdit.exe which should load the editor up.

I try to install the application, but I can't make it work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I downloaded and unpacked the version 1.14 to a folder and opened setup.exe. Everything worked, then the editor starts, but I literally can't do anything. In the page view, there is not page, I can't create pages, I cant load media files etc.

Do I have to do something specific to be able to use the application like saving an empty file or anything? I tried for an hour now, but I can't find a solution.

Here it is:

https://code.google.com/p/tease-me-editor/w/list

It may not be completely up-to-date, but should still be helpful.

arcinius wrote:Hi all, I apologize if this is posted somewhere else, but I notice that there are fields in the editor for "If Set" and "If Not Set" but they're always greyed out. Does anyone know the command I can use in the XML file directly similar to if-set="tVariable"? I have a workaround but it's really not pretty...

Cheers,

The editor can be used for nyx or teaseme/guideme the default is to disable the fields that are not available for nyx.
there is a setting to enable the fields if you are writing a teaseme tease.

If you use the enabled fields it will ignore them when it generates nyx code.

Just tried it on windows 10 and it worked fine for me.
the editor logs information to ErrorLog.txt so there may be useful info on what is happening there.
(feel free to upload the error log somewhere and pm me a link)
It will be somewhere under C:\Users\"Your Username"\AppData\Local\Apps
where "Your Username" is your windows user.

It is probably something to do with permissions if the program runs but you can't save

Under the Tools menu, select "Gen Nyx Script."

Go to the Nyx tab and copy and paste all of the resulting code into the Nyx editor's script tab here at Milovana. There's no actual function for uploading anything built into the offline editor. You'll also have to upload all of your images into the Nyx editor yourself.

Tip: double check your image file names! Nyx has a tendency to rename files if they have certain characters or punctuation in them. Philo has done a great job at accomodating these changes in the Offline Editor's Nyx script generator, but sometimes weird things can happen. ;-)

The editor can be used for Nyx or Teaseme/Guideme.
Anything highlighted in red in the editor will not work in Nyx.
Nyx does not support Metronome natively, you will need a sound file that plays the correct metronome beat and include it as a sound file on the page.

Offline Editor for Linux searched

Post by udo100 »

Hey anybody,
is there a offline Editor for Linux available?
Maybe a Java generated program.
The nyx Editor looks very unreliable.

I am not aware of one.
Mine is written in vb.net so is pretty much windows only.
