Welcome back Nilcum

Post by toolman2810 »

Controlled Sensations was pretty interesting, as was the venus 2000. But to be perfectly honest. It seems he is promoting a well developed version of what we are trying to create here. But no one has actually seen it. The forums are locked out so you cannot even question him. There is little evidence that the thing even exists.
But a lot of evidence suggesting an incredible amount of interest in the end product.
There are a few semi amateurish attempts at what we are doing. Until I see an advertising clip / movie advertising a complete package. I still think we are cutting edge in what we are doing. I think having Milovana supporting us is a Huge positive & I think if we knuckle down & get this thing working.
The sky is the limit.

Yeah the CS is an interesting read and if nothing else it shows that we aren't the only group interested in doing this kind of thing. The setup for the CS is going to be very cost prohibitive though. I think we can do better. I was hoping they would have a section on how they did the electronic locking but nothing was posted about it. And as you noted the forum was locked.

One forum is, the others are not. I've posted there myself.

It's been way too quiet here! So, I'm going to post some more hardware links that may be of interest:

An interesting patent (for an orgasm sensor):
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Pars ... PN/5787892

Devices that are probably hackable into a sensor much like that mentioned in the above patent:
http://www.pathways-womens-sexual-healt ... evice.html
http://www.kegelexercise4sexualhealth.com/products.html
http://www.kegelmasters.com/kegelmaster ... 5QodLXoJzg
http://www.kegelcompare.com/

A type of sensor I used (for basically the same purpose) that works differently than the patent:

http://www.interlinkelec.com/
but only available from re-sellers, unless you want to buy hundreds or more.

Here are a couple US distributors of the above sensors,
http://www.imagesco.com/sensors/force-sensors.html
http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9375

Info on circuits for the above FSR sensors:
http://www.trossenrobotics.com/productd ... _Guide.pdf

An interesting line of USB interfaces, including one that controls two channels of 120 VAC for under 40 US$:
the U451 from http://www.usbmicro.com/
Looks like this Co. provides free libraries to control their USB devices via several languages and operating systems; I like that.

One US distributor for the above is: http://www.circuitgizmos.com/products/c ... u451.shtml

OK, the rest of you kinksters/hackers, please chime in with more useful hardware links!

Re: Hardware Links (DC power supplies for high current vibes

Post by PiJoy »

This is a cross-post from the thread "Call for Participation" on power supplies for toys. I was having trouble finding high-current (over 1 Amp) wall-warts. But two other Milvanan's(Nilcum and Bandit224) came through. Hats off to both of them. These are pretty good options for driving two (or more?) high power vibrators.

For our USA (and other 110 VAC countries using a US style plug:

Also, here is a 5v 3a power supply that will do 100V-240V. $7.99

http://www.bgmicro.com/ sells 5V 3Amp wallwarts for about $5. 2 amp and 4 amp modules are also available.

And here's one that does 240 VAC as well (not sure what countries the plug will fit):

Re Hardware Links: Websites to host photos and schematics?

Post by PiJoy »

Greetings all,

I find hardware quite difficult to describe adequately using just words. I think pictures and diagrams are useful, bordering on essential to communicate how to build custom hardware, whether mechanical, electronic or a mix of both.

Can anyone reading suggest websites on which we might post photos and/or schematic diagrams?
(I have fairly little experience with this issue.)

Free is always good. I have mixed minds about visibility/public-ness of such material. Ideally, I'd like a site that's free, but requires a registration/login to see the photos and is NOT indexed by Google, bing, etc. That way, we could share among ourselves (and anybody we tell what site it's on), but would still give us some measure of control over who can see our work.

Any ideas or opinions?

Thanks for reading,

PiJoy

I use
mediafire
I upload passworded zip files when privacy needed using 7zip

Free is my favourite 4 letter "F" word

Opendildonics is not much up to date, anyway, it still exists, the link above is false, it is simply http://wiki.opendildonics.org

New Hardware option / We've been partially scooped!

Post by PiJoy »

Greetings all,

Depending on how one looks at it, we either have a new hardware option -- or we've been partially scooped!
On http://www.slashdong.org/ Qdot put up an entry, dated 15Oct2011, titled "The Pen15 Board - Arduino Teledildonics Shield"

This is an Arduino shield, now available for pre-order, described by Qdot thusly:

6 years ago, I started slashdong with a dream. A dream to one day do something absolutely silly like have a circuit board with penises drawn on it in traces.

Thanks to the wonderful people at Birdbrain Labs, that dream is now a reality.

The Pen15 Board is a relatively simple Arduino shield, built specifically for sex tech and teledildonics research. At its core is a MOSFET, 2 resistors for current regulation, and a jack to hook up vibrators to.

Actually, that’s more than its core. That’s the whole thing, period. Told you it was simple!
From their webpage, http://birdbrainlabs.com/techtogo/index.php?cPath=24 they're offering this shield as a kit, fully assembled, and assembled with a vibrator.

The pen15 is only one channel, and modest power (500 mA for the vibe, using USB +5 volt power), but it may be a good option for folks who don't want to muck with a kit. I see no software for this board as of yet, but I expect we'll see some reasonably soon. Qdot has set up a subpage for this board, at http://www.slashdong.org/pen15/ Regarding the name of this shield, the pen15, I'm not sure to congratulate him and/or Birdbrain labs, or to groan loudly....

I haven't emailed him recently, but I'm pretty sure that Qdot put the opendildonics website up http://wiki.opendildonics.org/index.php?title=Main_Page so he may be amenable to some sort of cooperation.

I see this as another indication that the time is right for better sexual pleasure through technology!
