It takes a while with that site, it is manual from what I remember. It took days to get my account.

Ok, why does someone not simply make a channel on one of the larger IRC networks? There would be no need to maintain own servers. You could even embed a simple java client on the site, to point to the channel.

Was this by any chance somewhat Dune inspired?

I just read trough the first couple of pages, I have no plans of doing this.
