Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

Hi, just started to work on this, I got the firmware built and updated. It looks like it connects restim but the LEDs do nothing Is there a way to check if the board is working without connecting coils, transformers, 12v power supply etc? Not really, the software doesn't do much without connecting ...

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

Just attempted my first build, and it didn't go well. I printed edger477's case, and it was too small to fit the ESC board. I must have screwed up the scaling somewhere. I assembled everything via breadboard, and got the firmware built and updated. I was even getting data in teleplot, but I couldn't...

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

I have all my parts, and now I feel dumb asking: how do I know I've got the transformers oriented correctly? When I built the stereostim box, this was pretty important, so I want to make sure I'm not about to vaporize my soft fleshy parts.

Thanks.

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

Before I submit my parts order, would you mind telling me more about your output? I am used to my stereostim box, which has four banana plug outputs. Thanks. Mine too, but this box is miniature so I went for 3.5 jack (since it has 3 terminals anyway). Keep in mind to not plug/unplug cables while it...

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

But what is that big capacitor I added that since I powered it with usb-c pd trigger, and did not want to risk having session interrupted if my powerbank doesn't have stable enough voltage. This is just plain electrolytic capacitor wired to 12v input, - to -, + to + Thanks for explaining. So, no be...

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.

Would anyone be willing to post a step-step build of their FOC unit? It would be great if they could. Thanks. I second that. This tech sounds absolutely fantastic. I understand that this might just not be intended to be built by someone like me and if so, carry on gents, but I honestly don't feel l...

Re: Restim: e-stim audio generation software

I tried both arrangements, with no change in behavior, but I realized something that I might be doing wrong. I have been using a bipolar plug with one negative channel to each pole of the electrode. I connected these channels with another cable at the stim box, and I had been assuming that this arr...

Re: Stereo e-stim troubleshooting.

Also try measuring resistance between in and outputs. There should be no connection there, if you do measure any resistance there then your transformers are not the isolating kind and should not be used. I had a pair of transformers that where wound as auto transformers (meaning there is a shared p...

Re: Restim: e-stim audio generation software

I traced the wiring and everything looks OK. With the plastic parts you are using, the nuts touching doesn't matter. It also doesn't explain the symptoms. If the channels are shorting out you would see no signal on that channel, this doesn't match what you are seeing. You are supposed to connect th...

Stereo e-stim troubleshooting.

I was in danger of hijacking the Restim thread , so I've opened a new one here. @diglet, @Kelvinator and @47dahc: I checked all the possible connections with the continuity check feature on my multimeter. The only notable reading came from the input connections, ie, the black and red channels going ...

Re: Restim: e-stim audio generation software

Indeed it is the opposite of what is supposed to happen. What you describe is exactly what I feel with all zero calibration settings, reducing the neutral setting should gradually equalize the sensations at top and bottom position. I think you can only get this behavior if your computer outputs a m...

Re: Restim: e-stim audio generation software

For Lorada, Here are some suggestions: 1. Check your DIY stim box signals in a non-Restim mode using these 30 second test files: 30 Sec Stereo Ch 1 Only Track.mp3, 30 Sec Stereo Ch 2 Only Track.mp3, and 30 Sec Stereo Track.mp3 found in: https://mega.nz/folder/5KdCCD7K#1U1ByzDV1cOTrYufR5GCuw You sho...

Re: Restim: e-stim audio generation software

I've been trying to calibrate Restim according to the directions on the wiki, but I have a problem: When playing the circle pattern, I get plenty of sensation when the green dot is on the upper half of the circle, but absolutely no sensation on the lower half. I try to adjust by clicking the lower ...
